I guess you mean you are confused about choosing your needed web hosting type (shared hosting account and dedicated server), not web hosting companies. If so, believe me, now that you don't know which is best choice for you, it means shared hosting account
is your right choice and you shouldn't need to waste your money on dedicated servers which are more expensive in compared to shared ones.
But if you want more details about this, you should know that most websites can be handled by a shared hosting account. For example, I host my own ecommerce site via a shared hosting service for over 7 yrs with around 20,000 monthly visitors.
By the way, if someday you need to upgrade to a dedicated server, your hosting provider would make you aware of this and would alert that you must upgrade your hosting account. So, before that day, enjoy your shared hosting service! ;)
